SOLD BY: Human migration is the movement by people from one place to another either from rural to urban or urban to rural with the intentions of settling temporarily or permanently in the new location.
The following major causes or reasons for rural – urban migration
1. Inadequate social amenities and facility in rural areas: which include pipe-born water, electricity, good roads, school, hospital, recreational centers among others. therefore this social amenities which are presence in the urban areas encourages rural to urban migration.
2. Jobs opportunities in rural areas: many people migrate to urban areas to get a better job.
3. Political reason: many people migrate from rural to urban areas to get supporters who would be for them in terms of franchise.
4. Quality education: people migrate from rural to urban in terms of sound and quality education because in most rural areas there are few teachers with little or no experience in teaching.
5. Provision of recreational facilities: facilities like swimming pools, cinema houses, amusements parks. The presences of recreational facilities in the cities facilitate the migration of both old and your to cities thereby encouraging rural to urban
6. The luxuries of the urban world attract the people of rural areas, because most rural are based on agriculture. Hence the city luxuries encourages rural to urban migration
An agriculturist needs are simple. They revolves around domestics needs only, where as urban areas, everything revolves around technology that makes life easier.
